Signs of Head Lice
HERE ARE OUR SUGGESTIONS AFTER WE COMPLETE OUR IN-HOME LICE TREATMENT REMOVAL
Common Signs of Head Lice
Itchy or Tickling Sensation on the Scalp
A frequent sign of lice is a tickling or itching feeling, often caused by a reaction to lice saliva.
Redness and Irritation
You may notice redness or irritation, especially:
• Near the nape of the neck
• Behind the ears
These are common areas where lice tend to gather.
Lice and Nits Close to the Scalp
Both lice and their eggs (nits) are typically found very close to the scalp, where they can stay warm and feed.
Nits That Do Not Move
Unlike dandruff, nits are firmly attached to the hair shaft. If you run your fingers along the hair and the particle does not move easily, it may be a nit.
Using a Lice Comb for Detection
For the most accurate results, use a high-quality lice comb:
• Start at the scalp
• Comb slowly and pull straight through to the ends of the hair
• Check the comb after each pass
This is one of the most effective ways to detect lice and nits.
First—don't panic.
Head lice are very common and are more of a nuisance than a health concern. They do not pose a danger and can be treated effectively.
Important Things to Know
• You do NOT need to throw away clothes, bedding, or brushes
• Your home is not infested—lice live on people, not in your house
• Lice do not mean poor hygiene
• With proper treatment, lice can be completely removed
